Here's the story...
When Rin returned from her sojourn in the land of mutant bloodsucking demons They're just bugs Rin. Get over it. she found herself faced with a task of fearful danger. To her it was fated to journey into the vast recesses the depths of which had not been seen in millenia, and to drive back the forces of chaos and instill order where there was none. Oh my God. She was cheered in her endeavors only by the knowledge that soon her valiant companion, unmatched in wit and the ways of wisdom, would join her. You really are laying it on thick, aren't you? And who is this poor sod you're talking about? Together they would plan wonders beyond the imagining of humankind, deeds to inspire song and story for ages to come. But first this darkness must be defeated, to make the world safe for such works to begin. And it was a darkness that only one who had grown up On the edge of those shadowy realms could tame. It's your house, not Mordor.
Seven days and seven nights she labored, creating order out of chaos, law out of anarchy, pausing only to take those necessities as might ensure her own survival. And then the first great work took shape, and a place was made for all great works to come. You seem to be making a pretty big deal about two square feet of bare floor. On the eighth day did Rin and Frances join forces at last, Oh. I'm that poor sod you're talking about. and many were the feats they performed and the marvels they created. And yet to their noble work there was a higher purpose still. The time was nearing for the sacred pilgrimage, an annual undertaking, a journey undergone by those of strong will and great power. A fortnight and a half it was to last, and those who survived would return with knowledge greater than any material might. Our heroines anticipated this journey and set all sights upon reaching the destined place, prizing it above any other.
And now, tonight, on the eve of the pilgrimage to this holiest hall, the realm that is known to men as Young Company Theatre Camp, the two architects of great works remember their obligations to the things they have wrought, and wonder how to maintain the order of all things from so far a distance even as they dream of the glory yet to come. Yeah, we'll attend to this "great work" as soon and as much as we possibly can. But don't expect an extreme amount of coherency. Now begins the time of adventure, of enlightenment, of laughter and tears, of inspiration. And the tales of this journey will be told throughout the land, and all will be well. Fine, as long as you don't keep this silly shit up the whole time they're told.
Sorry we've been M.I.A. the past while. As you can tell from the above, it's been kind of nuts lately for us. We are indeed leaving for YCTC, the inspiration behind this whole affair, tomorrow morning for three weeks. Unfortunately, there we are lacking in the necessary time and resources to produce the regular comics, but we hope to be able to post something. We aren't sure what, or how much, or how often, but we will try. In the meantime, we both hope you enjoy what's left of your summer, and that you haven't given up on us quite yet. We may be sporradic, but I hope we are worth checking on every so often. ^_^

Hi, readers! Rin here with a little announcement before I leave on vacation. As it is summer now and, ironically, we get busier during the summer, we're scaling our updating schedule back to Monday and Friday.
That said, I've been going insane packing for this trip. So here's a pencil-doodle rendition of the sort of thing that happens when we talk on the phone too long.

Alright, so I am always getting on Frances about her wordy scripts, but.. well, just observe. Obviously I am a flaming hypocrite.
In other news, Frances is out of school and this is the last installment of my mini-arc, so everything should be back to normal (hahaha) on Wednesday.. which, coincidentally, is my last theatre group meeting.
I actually am reading The Silmarillion in real life. It's quite good really.. kind of like reading mythology. 'S very interesting. Of course, I am a person who reads Shakespeare for kicks, so take that as you may.
Frances, you are now owed a mini-ramble of tangential nature at some point in the future. ^_^

Here be what is goin' down, yo.
We were all set to have a week or so of Dead Frances Days- she's dealing with the end of school and exams and all sorts of related issues- when several crises befell simultaneously.
First, I lost my inking markers. Yes, both of them. The one I actually use and the one I carry around in my bag. (You know, in case I run across a sketch lying around unattended.. okay, so I'm a compulsive stuff-carryer-around-er. Go ahead and laugh, but I bet you do something even weirder.) And attempting to ink a regular comic with art markers turned out to be a disaster of unprecedented proportions. I don't get it, Prismacolors used to work really well for inking. Anyway.
Then! Then the modem, which has had a vendetta against me since it came into this house, decided it would go on and off sporadically for about a day, and then crash. Which it did, spectacularly, and proceeded to stay crashed through about three visits from the Comcast guys.
But now we are back up and running, hopefully, and in the absence of anything productive, you can have the result of my sister Anna's and my boredom-induced wordplay. The joke is all her, the art is as good as my inking gets right now. (But on the plus side, I get to play with coloring. Yey.)

Hey all, it's me. I have some news for you all that I think you will all be happy about. Due to popular demand, I am enabling the comments on the posts! ^_^ I would, however, like to set a few guidlines, just to keep things from getting crazy.
*Please try to keep them short, so we don't go insane trying to read them all
*Please try to keep to the comic or post at hand. If you have a more broad topic or suggestion please use the email (yciccomic@gmail.com)
*Please send any and all fanart to the email, and keep those limited to jpg or gif files so we can open them. (If any of you have sent us any already as annother type of file please resend it ^_^)
*I don't know how Rin feels about it, but I think it would be best if we refrained from replying to your comments unless there is a direct question to be answered. Just so you know.
*Speculation is fine, we like that, but if you have spoilers somehow, please don't talk about them on the posts. And don't ask for them, we won't tell 'cause it's all a suprise! ^_^
I hope those guidelines don't seem too silly. I'm just trying to keep Rin and myself from going bonkers. After she and I discuss things in more detail, I may go back and edit some stuff, but I personally think that it's all reasonable.
So comment away! Feedback is always good! And just remember, there will be deviations from reality every now and then, but that's because this is a comic and not, infact, reality. So if we change something odds are we did it on purpose. And as an extra-special gifty for being such great readers, I will (at some point when I finish writing it) put up some bonus stuff. It will be text, seeing as I'm not The Artist, but there may be some nice foreshadowy-ness.
I think that's all. I believe there should be a comic later today, so I hope you all enjoy it! Thanks for everything (especially all the fish)!
